birth control

So here's my first post on this new blog of mine. I wanted to start this blog on the idea of my colleague Jeanne who has her own blog about her medical HA HA moments. here's the unbelieveable #1.

As a student I was working in an underdeveloped low income community with a LARGE immigrant population. While working with the family practitioner we had a patient come in asking for birth control pills. we prescribed some suitable birth control pills that we thought would work for her and only a week later the nurse came into the office with tears of laughter. when we asked her what it was about she told us that the patient on the phone was one we had seen just the week prior called to state that she didn't think her birth control pills were working. when asked how she knew or why she thought they weren't working she proceeded to tell the nurse that they kept FALLING OUT! The nurse did explain at that point that they were ORAL contraceptive pills.
